Happy Friday, everyone!
In honor of this Sunday being Mother's Day, this week's poll question is:
What is the best piece of advice your mother ever gave you?
Looking forward to reading your replies!
And to all of our RSC moms, here's wishing you a very Happy Mother's Day!
You either are going to sink or swim so swim. The other thing she ingrained in me learn to type you will never starve and always get a job granted she was from a different era; however, my ability to type fast has served me well in this multi tasking world! Thanks Mom!!!
The only attitude you can change is your own.
My mother told me to get out of radio and get a REAL job!
Don't get married.
Being an older member I can relate that I lost my mom a number of years ago and the day doesn't go by that I don't miss here and her wisdom. Out of all the things she impressed on me over the years was that you should always FINISH WHAT YOU START!.
You better think before you speak! Sooner or later I'll figure it out! Happy Mother's Day
The best....hmmm....my mom is gone now, but when I was old enough to understand, she said "Be nice to everyone you meet". As an adult when I would occasionally utter a mild profanity, she would always say "David, don't swear, it sounds like hell".
2 things... Dont sweat the small stuff...... if its meant to be it will be
and
there's nothing you cant do!
Work hard, keep your nose clean and you'll get ahead. And that's exactly what happened.
Yep my mom too. She's a tenacious woman who can figure out any problem with a little elbow grease.
Well, Im not sure you would call it good advice, BUT, when I was a teenager, my Momma told me that preperation H was good for acne! So me and a friend snuck into the bathroom and tried it....all I can say Is NOPE! didnt work!! But my Momma ( that at 70 yrs now) still has a wonderful sense of humor, and still gets a joke on me yet!
Never buy hair growing tonic from a bald barber!
Life is NOT fair and it's not for the faint of heart. In order to enjoy life you must jump in with both feet and make things happen!
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...then it must be a duck !!
At least you can "act“ normal.
CASH IN ADVANCE!!
This best advice I ever got from my mom is...."go put on some lipstick and brush your hair. If you look up, you will feel up!" It may sound funny, but it really is true. If you look depressed, you will feel depressed. I think of my mom's advice every time I go to deal with a tough client and it explains my obsession with lip gloss and lipstick!

Admit your mistakes. People will respect you for it.
I used to get that one too!
Be true to yourself and follow your dreams (as long as she approved of them!)

well my mom directed plays, which i do now myself. she said two .things that sort of went together, life is a constant audition, and if you fart on stage, fart in character.
Jane, what a great tribute to your grandmother
Be yourself...don't try to be anything that someone else wants you to be. Be the best you can be and let people choose whether they will like you for who you are.
