Actually it was my Grandmother who told me and my cousins, "God gave you 2 ears and 1 mouth. Use them
proportionately!"
Dedication is the key to success. , never loose your focus!
Do what you love, love what you do. Try new things enjoy life find your passion in life. Don't lie, you can never remember what you told someone when you lied. Always tell the truth so you don't forget anything. And if you don't have anything nice to say, well who care's say it anyway that's your true feeling don't hold back people will respect you more with the truth. They might not like you, but will understand you better.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU MOM'S OUT THERE
"If you sprinkle when you tinkle, be a sweetie and wipe the seatie"
She always told me "All a man has is his word" and to trust in The Lord Jesus Christ. He paid your sin debt.
That advice has served me well. She went home on Mothers Day 1991. Theres not a day that goes by that I
I don't think of her. When you lose your Mom,you've lost the best friend you'll ever have on this earth!
Finish what you start....
Don't go into the same career as your father - you're wife will continually tell you to get a real job...his career: Radio Advertising Sales
But like a petulant child, I rebelled and did just the opposite....she was right (as usual)
Don't eat yellow snow.
The two best pieces of advice she gave me were:
"If momma ain't happy, nobody in this house is going to be happy!"
and
"Son, I don't care what your weird Uncle Carl told you. You really DO have a face made for radio."
Don't play football. That was in 1965. Knowing what we know about football, concussions and long-term brain damage, I would posit that letting anyone play football before they are 21-years old is child abuse. Happy Mother's Day.
There's a world full of sharks out there - CYA (cover your a$$)
Love this! my daughter has spina bifida as well and being a mom of a special child means you have to be ready to push them into what others believe is "dangerous" or "just to hard for that poor child" because not pushing them means you accept that they cant do and be more than their disability . Give your mom a huge hug for me because I know how much she deserves it!
Don't burn your bridges. You never know when your path may cross again. In sales, it's definitely a big deal!
God gave you 1 mouth and 2 ears. Use them accordingly.
Who have known I'd be quoting her in sales training?!
A
My mother came over on the SS United States from Germany in 1955 when she was only 15 years old. She didn't speak any English and was starting a brand new life as an American. She always told me never use permanent solutions to solve temporary problems. That's great advice!
From Bill Wayland:
"Always marry a good Irish girl and the post office is a good job. So I married a French-English girl and my children married a Jewish girl and number two married a Salvadoran girl (They speak spanish around the house). I never listened to my mother."
My mom always said do what you love and the money will come. Mom was soooo right!
From Robert E. Lee on the RSC Facebook page:
Lol...I don't know if it was the 'best,' but did anyone have a Mom who did NOT admonish you to wear clean underwear, in case you ended up in the hospital? Gosh forbid that anyone at the hospital might be focused on your underpants, and not the medical reason you're there for, right???
Two words: Be Fair
Well...I'm going to pass on BEST and go with most memorable. I was putting together a family party, kind of last minute and at my sisters house. I was coordinating potluck food and, well, let's just say it did not go over great or to mom's standards of party. Her advice was this, "If you are going to put on a party, then "put the party on". In other words, quit making others, and get it done Rene, and so I do and always have since.
