    Just got sales writer Geoffrey James' latest "Insider" newsletter, in which he included this gem:

    "Below are the best times to get decision-makers on the phone, based upon the daily and weekly rhythm of their industry.

    • Accountants: Between the 12th and 20th of each month.
    • Appliance Stores: Tuesdays, Wednesday's, mid-days.
    • Bankers: Before they open for transactions, usually 9am to 10am.
    • Bars/Night Clubs: Late in the week, late afternoon.
    • Bicycle Shops: Wednesday, early mornings,  but check for possible days off.
    • Brokers: Before the NY Stock Exchange opens.
    • Car Dealers: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, mid-days, Saturday mornings.
    • Computer Stores: Before 1pm.
    • Department Stores: Early mornings, late afternoons.
    • Fast Food Stores: Between 10am and 11am.
    • Florists: Early morning.
    • Food Brokers: Before 9:30 AM or late Friday afternoons.
    • Furniture Stores: Late afternoons but avoid the end of the week.
    • Golf Stores: Midweek, early afternoon, rainy days.
    • Health Care: Mid-day but avoid Mondays.
    • Home Improvement Stores: Midweek, 2pm to 4pm.
    • Hotels: After check-outs but before check-ins (i.e. between 2pm and 4pm) but avoid Mondays and Fridays.
    • Jewelers: Early morning or late afternoon, but avoid Thursdays.
    • Menswear: Before 11am.
    • Pet Stores: Early week, mid-days.
    • Restaurants: Before 11am but avoid Mondays.
    • Shopping Malls: Mornings.
    • Sporting Good Stores: Midweek, early afternoon.
    • Supermarkets: Between 11am and 2pm; Mondays and Tuesdays are best.
    • Toy Stores: Between 1:30pm and 3pm, early in the week.
    • Women's wear: Before 11am.
