Promotional mailing I created to attract a client.

Took a picture of it. Attached the file. For an unsigned auto dealership.

Was not getting any luck getting with a decision maker at this auto dealership.

Phone calls. Nada. Stopping by. Never there.

So, I made and sent this to the owner.

Contains: Printout glued to box bottom. Small toy automobiles affixed to my layout.  A media kit affixed to box top.

Business card and a call to action.

A personalized message from me (clients name on layout on box bottom layout.)

You might think this is overkill or unorthodox, just to get a face-to-face meeting.

But, this dealership is a bit far away. Gas is expensive. This project took a total of 2 hours

to do and cost me about $7.00.  I felt it was worth the time and expense, to try it.

Still too early to say if it worked or not.

What do you think of the approach?

    Mike

You're thinking outside the box by thinking inside the box.

It's cute and clever and attractive.

Just one observation: you're in radio; where's the audio? (Click on the link for some valuable help...absolutely free!)

Well, I could have added a CD. No problem. Have a complete home studio,(and commercial samples) so audio is NEVER a problem.  I could have made a complete CD, bound in a traditional CD case with graphics and shrink-wrapped. However....

I felt that this box was simply a tactic to  gain enough interest to get an appointment. Could I  have made a CD that contained my voice, that argued the case of using our station and why etc? Yes.  Maybe I should do that on the next round of doing these. Our station is very big on using audio for everything.

I send out a newsletter every month...a personal  AE newsletter that DOES feature audio every month. A selected client commercial every issue. (Use a service provider to send the emails, but the files reside on my personal server.)

Still new to this radio SALES position, so falling back on things I normally would do with my marketing experience.

Thank you for looking at the piece and your comments!
