How do I turn barter spots into actual income?

    Hello all,

I'm an independent content producer facing potential all-barter syndication deals in the near future, however I have no Radio sales experience!  As you might expect, my most important question is "How will these deals generate actual income?

Initially, I could be offered 15-40 (:60) spots per week spread over multiple stations in San Diego... and have solid leads for similar deals in Los Angeles, San Fransisco, Las Vegas and Pheonix... but I am completely lost on how to best approach the concept of monetizing this type of inventory.

How do I figure out what the spots are worth in each market, and what they will sell for?  Should I attempt to sell them myself?  How do I find the right sales pros to sell them for me, and what terms should I expect?  What percentage of spots can I expect to sell on a weekly basis?  Local vs. National? What about legal and tax issues?  Conflicts of interest?  Hidden pitfalls?  These are just a few questions and concerns that come to mind.

Obviously, I need an A-Z crash course.  From qualified professionals.

    Takers?

My sincerest thanks to you all in advance.

    Bob

That's what I would like to know. I have the features available, but not sure how to "Present" them to potential clients. I also do not have sales experience, but I do have my own online radio station at www.thebigjohnshow.com. Any free help would be appreciated since money is really tight at the moment.
