    Happy Friday, everyone!

Here is this week's poll question:

Will you be attending the NAB/RAB Radio Show in Chicago this month?  If so, what sessions are you most looking forward to?

Rod will be attending this year and would love to meet up with any RSC members there.

If you are not going, do you plan on picking up any of the recordings afterwards, and if so, which ones?

Looking forward to reading your replies!

Yes, I'll be there with the Dave Scott Companies and a booth exhibit, #414.  I hope anyone who visits the exhibit area will stop by and meet Dave Scott himself.  I hope I can attend any of the sessions that talk about Radio's ability to create the specific needs of the advertiser.  I sometimes feel our industry forgets what an instant medium we have and our creative capabilities to make something fresh for customers.  I'd also like to hear what stations think of streaming online. Have they been able to make any money or is it a dark hole?

    Decisions, decisions.

Don't want to miss the Small Market Idea Exchange on Wednesday, but that will preclude being able to attend "Maximize Radio's Assets to Gain Share of Marketing Spend."

On Thursday, I have to make a choice between Paul Weyland's session, "Think Like an Adman and Sell Like a Madman"—I've never seen Paul in action face-to-face, though I've heard lots of great things about him—and "Four Secrets to Creating a Successful Radio Commercial," featuring Tony Mennuto, Creative Director of RadioFace; Mikal Reich, Creative Director of Dead As We Know It; and Chris Smith, Creative Group Head of The Richards Group. The latter session is of great interest to me because our success—as sellers, as stations, and as an industry—depends to a great degree on the success of the commercials we create.   Tough call.

It's a good thing recordings will be made available afterwards.

    Brian,

I expect that Mobiltape will be recording the sessions and offering CD's for sale afterwards. If you're not already on the Radio Show's mailing list, you can sign up at their website.

BTW, you can still find some real gems at Mobiltape - recordings made at previous RAB conventions - including Dan O'Day on ad writing, Chris Lytle on sales, etc.  Good stuff, and dirt cheap!  Worth investigating.

I will be there!  I'm also presenting, come see me at my session....Sales Solutions: GET MORE!  Wednesady, Sept. 14th, 2:15pm in the Columbus CD room.

Usually I have so many meetings set up that I miss a lot of sessions, but I do plan to attend as many as I can.

Even though we'll be there, I always bring all of the recordings home to share with the staff, and hear what I missed.

Hope to see lots of you there!
