Looking for something inventive, creative, and outside the box for a local tanning salon that has multiple locations through out the city and surrounding areas. They are a great client - advertise consistently, when on the air. Haven't done radio in a while so I really want to give them something that they'll fall in love with and sign for at least 6 months. We live in South Texas where it has been deathly hot and can still go to the beach pretty much up until Christmas, but now that we are heading out of "peak summer" this would be a great time to get them on the air. They are open to almost anything! Any suggestions are much appreciated!
Thanks!!!
P.S. We are a brand new station in the market (only been on air for 4 weeks) and have had to signifcantly price our spots to beat other competitors...
Hi Amy - We produced this musical theme for Island Tropics Tanning Studios a couple of years ago. It got them very excited about radio and resulted in a consistent long-term buy from the client. Perhaps we could adapt it for your client in Texas. At least you could play it for them as an example of what's possible. If they go ahead, there would also be a 10% referral fee in it for you.

Our sales staff sells lots of " advise shows" we let the customer talk about a topic for 1 - 2minute and then they
buy the 30 second commercial to follow as well as promos for the "advice".
We have''nt done a salon but we've done just about every other type out there.

I want to bring in a listeners question.. SHEILA IN LYNDON STATION WANTS TO KNOW: I’m sick of winter, I’m ready for tanning, how safe is it?
When people think about tanning beds, they usually think of two things - a dark, golden tan and risk of cancer. While it is true that tanning beds come with risks, I can address some of the safe facts of tanning beds. The fact is that people love to be tan and as long as there are people on Earth, there will be people tanning, whether outdoors or at an indoor tanning salon. With all types of tanning, special considerations need to be a part of the equation to ensure a person does not burn. The good news is that there are options to make tanning both a success and safe.
At UNC we offer European Tanning, in lay down beds and stand up booths. As well as the tanning sessions we offer pre and post tan lotions to keep you skin supple.
AND THEN WE FOLLOW UP WITH THE COMMERCIAL.
GOOD LUCK
