Office Ice Cream Parties!

  • June 22, 2011 9:32 AM PDT

I have a client, a dairy company, I would like to come up with a promotion for July, as it is Ice Cream Month! My idea is to pitch them the Office Ice Cream parties, one a week....My only roadblock is how to involve offices, other than the same old boring call and win...fax in and win.....Our station does have a website and a facebook page....Help!

    Thank you!

    Ice cream Sunday...on a Monday....

Random offices are selected to deliver said ice cream on Mondays... ... maybe use it as a write in promotion on air... also if you could get the Icecream company to put up a travel prize for one lucky office that might work...

All offices who try the ice cream or get visited by you go into the draw ... you could persuade the local travel business to get involved and trade say 2 couples...

    Hope this helps

    Why offices? Create community events.

    1) neighborhood ice cream socials-neighborhoods vie for the opportunity to have the station bring music and ice cream for up to 100 people

    2) summer sundae Sundays-similar idea but focus on summer family picnics and reunions.

    3) birthday party in a box-listeners write in with their kids summer birthday date and station brings the ice cream and cake

Any of these can include a retailer as partner

A variation of Mike Brunel's suggestion. For three years now we've conducted the ICE-T - Ice Cream Emergency Team...To increase in-office listening..only offices email..each Monday one is picked at random for delivery of a six-pack of pints of our Creamery's product deliveredy by station personel...pictures are taken and posted on the station's website..the promotion is posted on the station's web-site with daily on-air promos. Client obviously pays for the promo weekly...we run April to September. Creamery also has the opportunity to "scoop" samples at station events or event where we are broadcasting live. Plenty of variations to this.

YOu are right to move away from the same boring call, or fax to win arrangement. Consider instead asking listerners, (specificaly those representing office staffs) to send in photos on your facebook page of the most unusual ways to use milk, cream, butter, or whipping cream. That last one could elicit some less than family-friendly photos so be careful. Alternatively have listeners submit their most unusual cow story, or most delicious recipe using dairy, or best milkshake recipe. Most votes/likes wins. Hope that helps?

How about having people take pictures of their office mates with "sad faces' because they don't have ice cream.  They then email those pics to you and you post to your Facebook page and website...then dj's decide what office has the saddest faces and they win the ice cream.  Then you get  pics of the "happy faces' when the ice cream is delivered and post those as well.  Then your client gets additional exposure!!  Good Luck!
