Our stations are new, and we're looking at promotions to drive audience and, more importantly, garner business - am I the only one who thinks that "register to win" promotions NOT done online, where we ask listeners to go to sponsor locations to register to win daily prizes, are outdated?
My gut and recent experience tells me that folks aren't going to drive across town - especially with the price of gas - to enter to win $50, and clients aren't as interested in having folks walk in to register as they used to be...
Thoughts?

Market size would be a big factor. You wouldn't expect someone to drive to Lafayette from Crowley to register for a box lunch from KFC. The key to make a register to win work is good planning and promotion on air, plus many locations.KEUN has had a Easter basket register to win for many years.
