This is a question that will likely bring alot of answers that start with "It depends", but I'll ask it anyway.
I host and produce a regionally syndicated outdoors radio show. I'm exploring the possibility of launching an additional one hour national show. I'd launch a short feature show in conjunction with that.
I've been able to determine some costs associated with this, but am having a hard time figuring out the potential revenues.
The question is this - What is a reasonable fee to charge a sponsor on an annual basis for sponsor mentions, and one to two 30-second ads per hour when you are dealing with 25 stations, 50 stations or 100 stations with different levels of popularity in a wide variety of markets? It is understood there will be lots of other things going on to make the sponsor happy on top of this (constant contact, covering events, new products, specials, etc.).
Thanks for any figures - based on previous experience - you can give me.
