Happy Friday, everyone!
The 2010 Radio-Mercury Award Finalists have been announced, and as Rod pointed out, the Radio Station-Produced category is well represented.
So this week's poll question is,
Of the station-produced entries in the 2010 RMA finalists (listed below - just click the links to listen), which is your favorite?
CBS Radio: Building 19 Subliminal
Clear Channel Broadcasting: The Tune Up
Clear Channel Creative Services Group: Bear Skin Rug
Clear Channel Creative Services Group: Landscaper
Entercom: Pick Me
Townsquare Media: Izzo's Burritos
WBEB-FM: Woodpecker
Post your choice below . . . and we'll see how our picks compare to the judges' when the awards are announced on Monday, September 27, 2010.
It's a toss up between the Clear Channel entries of The Tune Up and the Bear Skin Rug.
bear skin
What can I say! A commercial by kids is always GREAT!! I pick Entercom:Pick Me. They were all very good, it was fun to listen to them.
So many of this year's finalists were singing spots - new trend?
All were good, but I like the WBEB-FM: Woodpecker spot, a marvelous demonstration of the power of sound to paint vivid pictures in the mind. (And as RSC member Lenja Papp recently pointed out in a Facebook post, radio is the only medium that can create simultaneously as many different pictures as there are people listening.)
Hands down...My choice is WBEB-FM's Woodpecker spot!
I pick the one that brought the most business to the customer! That tends to be my criteria.
Tune Up...by far
Woodpecker . . . no contest! The only commercial that made me laugh (when the train went through the house). T'was very cool.
I liked the Woodpecker the best, but thought Building 19 was funny and Tune Up was clever.
And the winner is. . . WBEB-FM's "Woodpecker"! Congratulations to the station for their $10,000 prizewinning spot!
