Station Promotion

Each year we do a business expo trade show in the spring. Attendence has been steadily decreasing, which in turn means lower sales for the vendors. As a sales staff, we are trying to convince management to forego the show all together. They are willing to do this IF we can come up with a different revenue making event/promotion. The show generally brings in $30,000. Any promotion ideas that can generate equal revenue?

Our local newspaper actually does the Taste of Home Cooking School. Thanks for the idea though!

    Hi Jessica....
It will help you and management to review the $30,000. Is that gross sales? Is that net of costs INCLUDING hours everyone on your staff is working. Make sure you are really making money.

Brainstorm ideas for "today". Yesterday's show ideas (last week & last year) ideas are out of date. Hot topics today are children, pets, food, drink and JOBS.

    Jessica,

Our station has two events each year that are very successfull. We have a Women's expo and a Bridal Expo. They continue to grow each year. The bridal show has been going strong for 7 years! The women's show we incorporate a local well know "chef" and have cooking demonstrations all day that people have to buy vip passes. We charge admittance to each event to weed out the lookers from the buyers!
