    Happy Friday, everyone!

The RAB/NAB Radio Show starts next week, so for this week's poll question, we'd like to know:

    1) Are you planning to attend this year, and if so, what are you most looking forward to?

    2) If you've attended past shows, what were some of your best takeaways?

Looking forward to reading your answers!

Having attended more radio shows than I care to admit, here is my two cents on what are the NOT TO MISS features of these conventions:

    1) Panel Discussions.  These are generally groups of actual broadcasters who have "Been there, doing that".
    2) The Hallways:  When a session is underway, usually about 15 minutes in the hallways start getting crowded with people.  They are in their own "discussion groups".  These groups are usually populated by the DOERS and you can learn a LOT from them. If you see Paul Tinkle or Roger Utneimer, get close to them.
    3) The "Floor".  Most vendors who are worth anything know things and they share things.  They may or may not have a product you want to buy buy unless you talk to them you will never know.  If you see Mark Levy, buy him a coffee and LISTEN to him

Agree with Chris about the value of the panel discussions, where market-proven ideas flow freely. Generally, the panelists aren't trying to sell you anything, but are genuinely interested in sharing their successes (and sometimes failures) for your benefit.

Not attending this year, but hope anyone here who does will share their takeaways.
