Happy Friday, everyone!
This week's poll question was prompted by a recent blog post by our friend and sales trainer Phil Bernstein, Who Says an 'Annual' Has to Stop at 12 Months? Phil makes the point that AEs and sales managers may be leaving money on the table if they limit themselves to asking for a one-year contract. (Click here to read Phil's post.)
So for this week's poll, we'd like to pose Phil's closing question:
What's the longest advertising plan you've ever sold?
Looking forward to reading your replies!
From John Carroll: Signed up a client in 1975, still running today!
From David Kuehn: When I was selling TV, I sold an 18 month contract to a Toyota auto group which at the time was the largest order the station had ever booked. Shortly after, the GM did a "buy American" editorial in the news which was immediately followed by my new Toyota client's spot. Needless to say they cancelled the order and didn't book the station again for about 2 years.
