Happy Friday, everyone!
This week's poll question was prompted by recent conversations with our friend and customer Jerry Baker, owner and general manager of WEIS Radio in Centre, AL. He shared that he recently purchased a retired ambulance and turned it into a beautifully-painted mobile broadcast vehicle:
It's the first time the station has had a dedicated vehicle, and Jerry commented that "it's an added work tool to better serve our communities and clients." A good example of this can be seen on WEIS's Facebook page, where the station is asking for listeners' help in filling the vehicle with non-perishable food items to help their neighbors who suffered loss during recent tornadoes.
So this week, we'd like to know:
Do you have a dedicated station vehicle? How do you use it? And please share photos!
Looking forward to seeing your pictures and reading your replies!
Yes. The Hooptie.
"The Hotmobile" c. 1993. a repurposed GMC motorhome. Years of abuse and neglect took their toll and it now sits on the lot of a repair shop, awaiting resuscitation or burial (not sure which). Fun while it was around though.
Trivia: That handsome fellow on the left is Bob Miguel (aka "Teddy Bear" - aka "Bob Holiday"), man of a gazillion character voices, in addition to his own. He was our production guru for a number of years. Bob is now in the Los Angeles market, voicing national direct response commercials that have likely aired on your station.
