    Happy Friday, everyone!

In his article Your Buyer Left? What Now? sales trainer Art Sobczak discusses how to move forward with your sales efforts when the person you've been working with is no longer with the company.

So for this week's poll question, we'd like to know:

Have you ever been surprised by a sudden change of contact at one of your advertisers? How do you proceed when you find out that the person you've been working with is no longer with the company? Have you been able to continue the relationship?

Looking forward to reading your replies!

This has definitely happened to me.  It is most disappointing when it happens with someone you have a long and strong standing relationship.  Fortunately, in most of those situations even with larger national accounts, the relationship I had built over the years with my original contact resulted in them stressing the importance of continuing the partnership with me and our stations.  But I do recognize that these type of relationship take YEARS to build and strengthen.  Many times also the person leaving will give you a heads up and make an introduction prior to their departure.
