Hurricane Maria blew the roof off of WKAQ-AM's studio in Puerto Rico this past Wednesday. Earlier this week, we posted a request from a station on St. Maarten, trying to rebuild after the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma. (On St. Thomas, WSTA-AM was the only station still on the air; they, too, report significant damage.) With hurricanes, flooding, earthquakes, and other natural disasters in the news recently, we wondered how many of our members' stations have faced a similar threat.
So, our Friday Poll question: What's the worst disaster your station has faced, and how did you deal with it?

One of our affiliates, KANA AM 580 in Anaconda, Montana had their station burnt down after a female transient arsonist arrived in this small town and not only burned down the station, but also a historic building and was working on lighting a third building on fire when she was caught. Unfortunately, KANA is now for sale which is a shame because they operated a non-profit through their station giving kids with disabilities and disadvantages a chance to work there.
