Taking the Leap to Revenue Generating Websites!

    Hello Everyone,

I am working on putting together a proposal for my stations sales staff about how we can use our website as an advertising opportunity for our customers and I am looking for some guidance from others that may have already gone down this road, I mean no sense in reinventing the wheel if there is system that works!  I just have a few questions and answers or suggestions for any of them would be greatly appreciated!

    1.  What are the potential challenges that come with using your website as an advertising tool?

    2.  How did you determine a price point for what advertisers would pay for your spot?  Was it based on advertisement size and placement?

    3.  Is this more comfortable to customers as a 3 -6 month commitment or are they looking for month-to-month?

    4.  What are some good resources to look for?

Thank you very much for all of your help!

I don't know if this will help but I have seen similar ways to do this on different web sites.

Fiverr.com allows posting of ads on sites for a small fee, (usually a "fiver" to start, but depending on what you offer it can climb from there).  They do take a cut so you have to figure that into your cost.

The other site which I have seen recently through LI contacts is Adfresco.com, where you can post to advertise on your site. They have some posted fees, some request a quotes etc.

I think it would also depend upon if your site is streaming the station, then you can link ads to the broadcast as many already do.

I'm sure there are more experienced radio folk in here that can help, but that might get you started.

    Good luck.
