Happy Friday, everyone!
This week's poll question comes from Jack Walker of Branson, MO:
Radio has always been the king of putting together special promotions that excite listeners and advertisers. We have seen our costs increase dramatically for trips that involve airfare since tickets can’t be booked until we know the name of the winner. Sometimes, even getting tickets has been difficult. How are others handling this? Are others moving away from trips as prizes? What are you offering instead?
Thanks for the question, Jack . . . we look forward to reading all your replies!
I have Two words for you: Apple Promotions!
So, a solution might be to set up a Travel Agency or airline as "the" or one of the sponsors of the contest ..and let the agency/airline deal with the ticketing process .. We have been successful doing this. Otherwise, buy a "coupon" from your resource redeemable only for the specific trip , etc. and again, let the "source" and the winner deal with the issues .. as long as you have a happy winner and sponsor, do you really need to care about when the winner travels? Just a thought ..
