Okay RSC family, I am fairly new to radio sales and I need some creative collaboration. I have a high end jewelry store in my market that I want some new campaign ideas for. Something that they can get excited about as we gear up for 4th quarter and the holiday season. I have a few ideas, but I would really like to hear what has worked for you guys in the past or on the contrary, what hasn't worked. Something besides your usual "50th anniversary where everything is marked down 75%" campaigns.
Any and all responses are greatly appreciated.
Regards,
J.R.
J.R.,

Thank you for the help, Rebecca!
I did an awesome promotion that brought out 186 people in a 2 hour remote. The jeweler gave me a $2000 ring. We used small styrofoam cups and filled them with water and froze them. One of them had the ring in it. We passed a cup out to everyone that come out and they had to melt the ice without using their hands. We made them rub it between their knees. Until there was a winner. It was the most hilarious thing. It was great right at Christmas. The jeweler told me he sold more in that 2 hours than he did the entire Christmas season. He ended up becoming a very loyal customer. He also used a ring that had been discontinued and was going to have to put it on clearance. So if your jeweler has something like that, it's priceless.
I sincerely appreciate your reply, Sonya. I bet this was entertaining to watch. I will put this on my list of promotions to discuss with my client.

Just read this in the November newsletter from Dakota Broadcasting, and received permission to share from GM Joel Swanson:
“DIAMOND DAY” IS BACK
Riddles Jewelry and Dakota Broadcasting are pleased to announce the return of the “Diamond Day” Promotion. Every weekday in November (except Thanksgiving Day) we will play a “Diamond Song” as a cue for our listeners to call in to qualify for that day’s drawing. At the end of the day we will draw a Winner of a pair of sparkling diamond earrings from Riddles Jewelry. That means we will have a total of 19 very happy people by the end of November. Just stay tuned for your cue to call in!
