    Happy Friday, everyone!

Here is this week's poll question:

Does your station offer a daily or weekly program in which you interview local business or civic leaders or other influential citizens?  How is the program structured?  What tips can you provide for making it successful?

Looking forward to reading your replies!

We have an interview program, and the format is somewhat fluid. Different situations call for a different approach. The key to success is providing information that is relevant and interesting to the listener.

Each weekday morning on both separate FM stations at approx 8:30a we air either a live or prerecorded interview with someone in the community. These interviewees are typically non profit representatives of organization like Rotary, sports boosters, local festival organizations. They come w info on fundraisers, community events... the county fair has someone in each day of the fair. We include advertiser events sometimes - especially if they have a component to their event of interest to the public, e.g., a local outfitter has a fall open house with free food, samples, dor prizes, time on the virtual range and chat with a popular hunting tv show host and statewide hunting celebrity Kyle Randall.

One of our FM stations has a daily morning program during the 9am hour that is specifically designed for civic leaders, community events that are going on in the area which is designed more as a public service/informational program. It is live with the guests in the studio.  The length is from 15-20 minutes.

In addition, we have a paid 5 minute program that spotlights businesses once a week (mornings) and is purchased on a 3, 6 or 12 month basis.
