I am having the worst time trying to come up with an ad campaign or promotion for the oil refinery and coal mine here. Most of the business is all industrial and being so green I don't really know what kind of advertising to sell them. I would really appreciate any thoughts or ideas.

Hi there! Like so many communities in Wyoming with mineral development activities.. we have learned that a "valuable service" to provide are HELP WANTED ADS... they work very well for the various industries .. Another , usually,imporant task of the large mineral's industry PR and Marketing Directors is Public Relations ... you might make a list of the various annaul events ( 4th of July Parade, Rodeo, Kids Days, festivals, etc.) and seek these folks out as a Major sponsor on your station in getting the word out, etc. Additionally, these companies often may be doing special health screenings for employees and their families, have annual community activities they actually host .. It would be really helpful if you find out who/where their Marketing/PR person is located ..and just ask that party how you and your station can support their public relations programs. Talk to the Human Resource person about help wanted ads .. etc. When you reach out , don't over look local management durng a "show me, tell me" interview on how your station can be of service in the community/county .. Of course, there's also the Weather Report and Road Report Sponsorships .. You're on the right track.. and when you get to the right folks..they'll give you a road map too!

I will look into the Marketing Director and Public Relations people and start there.
We do have Cambria Coal Mine Days coming up and that is huge here. We shut Main street down and everything. Coming from a city like Denver it's interesting how things are so different in a small town.
