Does anyone have (good) experience with putting together a "business after hours" networking event? We are thinking we would charge the venue for ad schedules and/or have sponsors run spot schedules. Any dos and don'ts?
If you're going to do it, make it the best event of the year. If you have to spend money to do this rather than trade go for it. This will get people talking about you and make it a can't miss event for the next year. If this event is a grand slam, what does it say to every attendee about how you run promotions?
