Hello,
I need some ideas for a client. He is a family dentist. He currently has good deals for new patients but he is still not getting good results. He asked for a promotion but I'm not sure what to do. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you!
There are a lot of things going on here before you just throw a promotion at him and pray it works:
How long has he been on? Dentists have a relatively long lead time, most people only go to the dentist every six months at best. What is the schedule like? Does he have enough frequency, reach, and repetition to make things happen?
Who is he talking to? Most people are going to be unlikely to change dentists unless 1. Their previous dentist pissed them off or 2. He is offering something extremely compelling
What is his message?
If I'm not a person who goes to the dentist on a regular basis, why not? Is it a) apathy -- my teeth don't hurt so i'll put it off b) they believe they can't afford it -- this can be overcome with the right campaign, and it sounds like a direction you have been focusing from the information at hand c) fear, bad past experiences, etc -- I actively don't want to go.
If I am a person who goes to the dentist on a regular basis, why would i go to a new dentist?
What does he define as "Good Results" and how is he measuring the effectiveness of the campaign?
Not sure that will help, and you may have already considered all those factors. Best of Luck
I recently moved an hour away to a large city and of course I am looking for new dentist etc....I ended up calling one here simply because of his radio and cable ads. They feature his daughter, about age 12, talking about her dad, Dr...........my dad just wants everyone to have healthy teeth. Even if you havent' seen a dentist in a long time he'd like to help you. I'll listen more closely next time and let you know. But it got my attention every time and he's the one I will go to.
I've also used testimonials from children and adults of a Dentist about the positive experience they've had and he was happy with the results.
Yes, most people do have a dentist already but they are not always satisfied. As far as the 'good" deals, what are they? Most people probably won't go to the cheapest dentist so that won't work, but offering something cosmetic might work. My dentist sold really inexpensive $20 electric toothbrushes that I appreciated and always bought for my family and told people about. Good luck
New people are moving into communities all the time. They have to find a dentist. Is it possible your client's campaign is generating business indirectly through referrals that are not currently patients? I've had this happen before. Insurance companies frequently switch dentists in their plan. This is an opportunity for your client. Dentists tell me that parents will send a child to a new dentist before they will make the switch themselves - then moms - then dads.
