We are looking for some new ideas for a morning listener participation competition. We have been doing a"Birthday challenge" competition for a couple of years now and are looking for something new. Basically a listener calls in and challenges our on air dj of who can guess the year celebrities were born on that day. Pretty simple but it has been very popular but it is now time for a change. Anybody got any good ideas for a new competition which involves our listeners? We air it around 8:40 each day.Thanks.

We have, in the past, had a trivial pursuit challenge between businesses. Two businesses would call in and their teams would try to answer trivial pursuit questions. Other businesses supplied the prizes so it was a win/win situation as everybody got their name on the air and they all got feedback from the local listenership as friends and relatives responded to hearing them on the air. A ton of businesses entered and most increased their presence on our stations in response to the contest.

Also simple, but how about a "He Said, She Said". Get a guy and gal on the line and ask gal qustions of the guy and guy questions of the gal. It's funny and fun!

Also, something we came up with that we haven't implemented but how about a "Are You Smarter Than a DJ"
get a local "celebrity" to come up with the questions. Also could be lots of fun.

Simply...Battle of the sexes has worked well around the country. Get a one Male and one Female contestant.
Not sure how your morning (team) is set up...but you ask the male...female questions (women, girlie stuff, ie cosmetic questions "What makeup goes on your face first in the morning?". The female gets guys questions (sports, tools, gearhead stuff) "Who is the Heisman trophy winner from Michigan Univ that is part of the College Gameday Crew on ESPN". They can be T or F or Multiple Choice. Ask three questions...Winner gets a small prize and defends their title the next morning. If they get 5 wins in a row, give them a bigger prize. Hope this helps.
