Happy Friday, everyone!
I recently read an interesting article, Compliments That Pay, written by Stephanie Melish (aka "Sales Barista," a Jeffrey Gitomer-certified speaker and trainer). In this piece, Stephanie discusses the positive impact that a sincere, professional compliment can have on customer relationships.
So here is this week's question:
What is the best professional compliment that you've paid to a customer or prospect -- and what's the best compliment that you've received?
Looking forward to reading your replies!
You are not as big of a jerk as the other station said you were, LOL, only kidding.
"I bought a car from your dealership and I can say that the experience was the best car buying experience I ever had"
Just yesterday a customer told me he had purchased commercials for the same event on 4 different stations, including metro and our commercials were by far the best. Made my day. I do spend a lot of time producing commercials and making sure my clients do receive the best we can put out and it does pay off.
I also always make it a point to let an owner or manager know if I received good service, whether they advertise with me or not. Good employees are worth their weight in gold.

I think the best compliment you can give to your customer is a radio advertising campaign that works! I love to visit my clients and hear how much they liked their ad, or how much business or foot traffic it drove to their store. Just last week, my furniture store client told me:
"Your ads are so good. You should work for a national campaign"
Music to my ears. That's 100% why I do this job. Many of my customers give me gifts from their shops, and I consider almost all of them my friends.
When you truly take the time to learn about their business, visit it regularly, seek that "identifiable difference", and use it in your ad campaign, you just can't go wrong.
"Do whatever you think is best, Lynn, I TRUST you!!
My favorite compliment as well! If they are trusting you with their money and their advertising that is huge!
I try to be very honest with my customers. If I go in and get great service...I tell them, but I also tell them if I felt the service wasn't up to par. I think that makes my compliments worth more, because they know I'm not just brown nosing.
Best I ever received was when a client asked me if I would work for them.
Best compliment I ever received is when a customer introduces me as his business consultant.
