Hi Katie!
I'll include your post in this week's newsletter, and will look forward to reading the feedback you get from RSC members. In the meantime, we once ran a poll question on a similar topic - maybe there would be some useful info there for you? Here's the link: http://www.radiosalescafe.com/forum/topics/friday-poll-christmas-packages-holiday-promotions
Best wishes,
Rebecca
As a creative I often try the old "filling fast ...do it before Christmas. Before Mum and Dad get here. Before your friends see how bad things are at your place". People in the Southern hemisphere have this thing about making sure everythings done by Christmas.
Works a treat on home services like curtains, carpets, the deck
Attached is an ad that started this week for one of my clients- they have had 40 extra calls this week

Christmas is coming. And here at Morgans we’re busier than a fat bloke on Christmas Eve.
However… if you call us now we can still get those carpets cleaned for you before Christmas. But you have to be quick, because our booking sheets are filling faster than a 3 year olds wish list.

Your competitors probably have their 4th quarter buys secured. Never too early to present your Nov-Dec. plans for retailers. Things like "greetings," and sponsoring special music segments on Christmas Eve/Day can wait a little, but not much, as businesses exhaust their budgets. Good selling!
I start pitching holiday buys in July. Of course, for those who bought last year, Im on them the next day, asking if they want to become a holiday tradition at the station. This works very well with the Grace holiday feature packages. I save the 1-sheet and demo so that I can send stuff out to clients anytime the topic comes up.
Start Easter Now.
Years ago I worked for a station that didn't seem to sell an upcoming season until it was almost too late, while a crosstown rival would sell three months ahead.
Make the best of your experience at your present station, keep a positive attitude but you may need to recognize your present position is a steppingstone to another station.
For new clients at least 3 months in advance.
