I have a client who is looking at one last 'hoorah' to try and sell a large number of his scooters - not your typical scooter....his website is www.cityscootersandoffroads.com and he sells 250cc and 150cc (small motorcycles) - is what they are like. They were very popular when gas was sky high. Would anybody have any ideas on how we could promote the scooters...now that gas prices are lower & winter is around the corner?

I SO wanted to do this promotion last year with a scooter dealer in town, but her was not interrested:

Have people register for the "How far will it go". Contest:

Advertise the scooter and the giveaway (give away a scooter). Thern on a given Saturday, put one gallon of gas in the scooter, make a small course in a parking lot of a grocery store, teach an announcer how to drive it the most efficient way possible and start him doing laps.

All of the guesses will be very close, so you need to know exactly how long the course is to give you the EXEACT distance traveled (which would to where it coasts to a stop).

    Hope this helps!

We just gave away a scooter this summer with them and it was GREAT! People who were interested in winning the 250CC scooter, valued at about $2500 had to email us their name and phone number - the number that they could be reached at between 11a and 1p and then between 3p & 6p. Each morning, we gave the qualifying key word @ 7:20am. Then, WE called YOU (on the numbers that were given to us). If we got a hold of you, we would ask you for the 'key' word - if you knew it, you would be one of only 67 qualifiers. The qualifiers then came to City Scooters and Offroads on a pre-determined date and we did a reverse drawing to determined who won the scooter! This was a blast and those that gave us their information were truly interested in the scooter! So - I appreciate the idea and we may use this for their spring promotion - but maybe you can take this idea to your scooter dealer~!

Ok...the website is www.scootersandoffroads.com - sorry about that! We are looking at ideas other than giving away a scooter because we just did a summer contest with the scooter. So, it would be more of an ad campaign - looking at continuing to attract buyers for reasons other than saving money on gas. Does that make sense?
