Applebee's

The Applebee's in our area recently went through a facelift (new window coverings, new sign, etc.).  I went in to see the manager but was informed that I would have to speak to the Marketing Director in another city.  I have called... and called... and called.  No reply.  The main office is 3 hours away.  I'm thinking about mailing a "media kit" but I want it to stand out so I can move forward with this.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Or a different way to go about this?

    Thanks!

    Celeste,

Courier delivery will get attention that USPS won't.  Flowers get delivered, too.

The station I used to work for once chartered a plane to take me from Winona, MN to Omaha, NE to make a pitch to a prospective client. (Fortunately, he signed it.)  Obviously the 6-hour round trip presents a logistical inconvenience, but that's all it is, right?  Does Applebee's potential business with you over the long haul warrant the time and effort?

Love to hear how this turns out for you.

BTW, we've started posting some of Jim Williams sales training audio here,  We'll be adding new chapters regularly. Eventually I expect to run into Jim's story about the radio sales rep that drove to WalMart's HQ's in Bentonville, AR to pitch Sam Walton personally, because he didn't know any better.  You'll love that one!
