I'm new to the Sales Cafe, but have been in radio for more than a couple of years now. I wanted to get a feel for the markets that are represeted here. I'm a small market #180ish and we are thriving! I feel that this is because we are in the trenches with our clients. We get to know them, their employees, their families, their business problems / issues. I have very little agency business that I deal with, but I still stay in contact with the client locally. I feel that my success is tied directly to my client relationships. Now that relationship is only good so long as I deliver the results that they need! But it starts with that relationship. I've read other discussions here where reps have lost business to other media outlets, I believe that this is because of a lack of relationship / trust / belief in you and/or your product.
Anyone want to add anything, please do! I love this business and see it being relavent for a long time to come.

Sonny, great comments! I agree with you completely. Relationships make a major difference when there are bumps in the road and in the belief the client has in what you are sharing with them. What town do you sell in?
