Any ideas from any of you concerning an advertising rate card for a Monday thru Friday 3 hour late night show? "The Old Night Light" will soon be on North Carolina Internet Radio.According to my sales rep at Live365,My show will be heard only in NC which is something I didn't know was possible on the internet.Of course the station will be on the air by automation 24-7 with my show airing live from my studio here at home from 10P to 1A.I have some smaller FMs that may be interested in broadcasting my show as well. So,,,, with all that said, whats some ideas on ad rates for internet? Whats a good rate card for the FMs? Do they pay me to carry the show? or, Do I pay them and then run my ads over their air? If they want to run their spots in the show breaks, should I get a percentage of their sponsors ad cost? MAN!!!!! this is cornfusing! Any ideas from anyone here?
Hi Ken:
I am just a sales rep so please take anything I say with a grain of salt. LOL But, I would suggest that in order to maintain control of your program, I would offer it to the internet or FM stations at no cost and you sell the ads inside your program. Start off with a lower rate, just ask some of your area FM's what they would charge for those time frames. Your rate can increase as you add more affiliates. Just some thoughts.
Thanks Lynn...I have been thinking along those same lines.Joe Marshall who,s been in radio promotion all his life is working with me in the background.I know Joe has forgotten more then I will ever learn.Great suggestion.
