I'm looking for a 3 month summer promotion giving away a big prize.  People will come to various sponsors during the promotion, sign up to win with a big drawing at a specific location at the end while having all those who registered to show up for the final drawing.  It will be a "must be there to win" event.

We are planning one for this summer with our classic hits station. We will be giving away a 1977 corvette stingray! We have 12 sponsors who are sign up locations. Each sponsor gets a two hour remote in june and one in july. We qualify people at the remotes and through weekly drawings at each sponsor location. We are having the finale at our local downtown open air market. At that time all 96 qualifiers must be present. They will be given a key and whoevers key starts the car gets to drive it home! Im so excited! If you have questions let me know.

A few years ago we gave away a Corvair.  The excitement was there, the listeners were happy and so were the sponsors.  I really want to do a screaming promotion that will not only provide our listeners with a great prize but would also want to keep the sponsors excited.  We've already gave lots of cash as prizes, but want something totally out of the park.  We are a local radio station and we want to keep any grand prize local.

MANY years ago we did a promotion called Radio Bingo. We sold 24 sponsors (1 for each square in a bingo board- saving the middle for station logo). Inside the square was the clients logo as well as a line for date and time. Listeners had to listen for the clients ad.. when they heard one, they wrote down the date and time they heard the ad. When they "bingo'd" they brought thier card to the station to be entered into a weekly drawing of winners.  We would draw 1 card from the weekly winners, cross check to make sure the dates and times were correct and that person won a prize. Each sponsor donated a prize or 2. We did this for 3 months. At the end we drew for one big prize... ours at that time was a trip to Vegas... I think one year we did a trip to Mexico too.  This promotion kept the listeners listening and the clients liked it because the listeners HAD to hear thier indivudual ads to win. Was very successful. Below is the docs we used for the promotion.

Trips, cars, and cash are things listeners can get excited about (and you can often trade for the trip). Some new ideas may be gas for a year, eat out once a week for a year, no cell phone bill for a year or no cable for a year.

I like to drive registration to our station website and on-air. It's easy to promote, gets listeners used to using the website more, and increases your ability to monetize your website.

Love the idea. I hope management.  I'd like to tie it in with a 2 hour remote at each of the sponsors and have listeners attend the remotes.  This way each time they show up at a sponsors location, they can pick up another BINGO CARD thus increase their chances to win. I think if we can get a printer to print the cards for free as a trade we can put the printers name outside the squares as a promotional mention for him.

I think thats one thing I forgot to mention.. each sponsor had a stack of bingo cards in thier business. We also did remotes. It was a very successful promotion!

We're doing the Radio BINGO for a trip for 4 to Disneyland! All of our squares are almost full, will finish selling them tomorrow. Anxious to see how this pan's out, so far our local businesses love the idea! Thanks again for the awesome idea!!

102 (or whatever your station frequency is) Days of Summer  -  with ticket and prize giveaways either on-air or with 'drops', i.e., 1 hour remotes at prize-giving client locations or both.  Giveaways can include anything from kayak rentals or movie/concert tickets to resort stays or a jet ski. Lots of smaller prizes work better than one big prize -  the odds of winning something is much higher and more winners creates more excitement. Count backward from Labor Day for the start of the promotion. Y102 is an AC format.

Big Country Big Sticker  -  tons of live mentions, website, promos and social media with area business locations to get a BC sticker.  2x a week the station vehicle goes out 'spotting' and pulls over someone with a Big Sticker to give them $100 (frequency is 100.9). Listeners LOVE this, put the stickers on vehicles, motorcycles, backpacks and bicycles -  yes, we have 'pulled over' a student with a backpack and a bicycle! This takes 2 on the road -  one to videotape or shoot photos for the website/social media and one to get actualities to use in the promos. Advertisers and potential advertisers are always impressed with how many stickers they spot .

Y102 Hot Sticker  -  same kind of thing as the Big Country stickers promotion above only when we pull people over they have a choice of prizes:  tickets to a local waterpark, $102 cash or a whipped cream pie in the face. A surprising number of people want the pie in the face. We use a pie tin filled with the spray-in whipped cream, provide goggles and -  if they want -  a barber apron and shower cap.  A fun and funny promotion.  Be sure to get the photos/video and actualities.
